Why Conserve Monarch Butterflies?
Monarch butterflies aren't just beautiful things to watch. They are a critical player in earth's ability to grow food crops. Today, the monarch butterfly population is declining so severely that they have been placed on the endangered species list. The biggest reason for their decline is habitat loss. But we can help reverse that problem!

When human beings work together to replace or build new monarch habitats, monarchs can be restored. When small habitats are created, they are called Monarch Waystations.
The great news is: it's easy and fun to create and install these Waystations! Monarch Highway is a youth led nonprofit organization dedicated to placing as many Monarch Waystations along U.S. Interstate Highway 35 as possible and raising awareness about the importance of monarch butterfly conservation.

Join us in our mission to protect these beautiful creatures and the future of human food production.

Funny fact about monarchs: every year, they like to travel within a few hundred miles of I35 as they migrate through the United States, between Mexico and Canada.
